Complex Assistive Technology

At Body Agility, our Occupational Therapists are highly qualified and experienced in assisting people of all ages who have physical, sensory, or cognitive problems, to maximise their functional capacity, independence and wellbeing for daily living. We consider all of your individual aspects when matching you with one of our Therapists, and we always take a neurodiversity-affirmative approach to your therapy.

 

We have an extensive depth of clinical experience in disability management, particularly with regard to neurological conditions, chronic disease, psychosocial disabilities, developmental conditions and pain management.  

We can work with you to help you to:

  • Develop fine motor skills (ie: effectively grasp and release items, writing, playing, etc)

  • Improve cognitive skills, problem solving and memory / attention span

  • Improve hand - eye coordination (ie: playing games, driving safely, etc)

  • Learn or re-learn self-care and life skills such as bathing, getting dressed, drinking, brushing teeth, cooking and feeding yourself.

  • Improve sensory processing and modulation

  • Improve visual perception 

  • Improve social skills

  • Recommend equipment and assistive technology to improve daily living, capacity building and independence (ie: wheelchairs, 4-wheel walkers, splints, bathing / showering equipment, ramps, hand-rails, dressing devices, communication aids, etc).

  • Recommend home modifications to improve daily living, capacity building and independence and increased mobility in and around your home.

Our Occupational Therapy Team

  • Our Occupational Therapy team is made up of highly qualified and experienced therapists who genuinely care about people and who want to support people to develop the skills and tools to live their best life.

  • We have extensive experience in disability management and assistive technologies. We utilise our extensive clinical experience treat patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, Fibromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Stroke and many other conditions.

  • We always take a biopsychosocial approach to our assessments and interventions because we understand the complex interplay between your biology, neurology, psychology and the social and physical environment you have developed in / live in / operate in.

  • We provide provide rapid and high quality Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs), General Assistive Technology Recommendation Reports (GATs), Sensory Profiles, postural and seating assessments (for assistive technology prescription) and much more.

NDIS Participants & Support Coordinators

  • We provide mobile services (home / school / ACF / daycare facility, hospital, etc) right across the broader Perth region, or you can come to one of our locations.

  • We can also provide FCAs Australia-wide via Telehealth!

  • We are also registered for Early Childhood Early Interventions (ie: children under 7 years old).

  • We have no wait times at all due to our unique operating model.
